August Prayer Update

We praise the Lord for His continued leading and the progress that is being made with Hope Mountain Ministries. The goat house is in the
process of being built and hopefully we'll have 15 milk goats living in their new home by October.
Our Action Team met again on August 4th and will meet again on August 25 to continue the process of planning the future development of Hope
Mountain. We are thankful for a group of competent, committed, Christian professionals who are providing key leadership in developing this
strategic facility to facilitate impacting Mindanao and beyond with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
There's so much happening here, and things are moving so quickly that your continued prayers are absolutely essential. "The effective
prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much" (James 5:16b - NASB).
Specific Prayer Requests
Pray that the Hope Mountain Action Team will continue to move forward in their planning. They need to complete the preliminary development
plan for the facilities by the end of September. Their plan will be presented at our national meetings to be held in Davao in November.
Only the Lord can enable them to accomplish this large task.
Pray for Gloria as she is working on developing a system of record keeping for Hope Mountain and training the staff.
Pray for Timothy as he works with the staff in developing a firm foundation in Biblical ethics, Christian maturity, and help enable them
to teach others.
Pray that the Lord will raise the people and the finances to move Hope Mountain ministries forward. We are praying that the Lord will
raise up $40,000 U.S. to jump start the renovation of the facilities so that it will eventually be a self-sustaining ministry administrated
and funded by Filipinos. Presently the situation is like trying to teach people "to make bricks without straw."
Pray for the 12 tribal pastors that are now studying at Hope Mountain. They come for one week each month for training in theology,
church planting community development and agriculture. These are all pastor/farmers who have had no formal Biblical training, yet they
are pastoring churches in remote areas.
On Sunday, August 18 we will be going to Astorga where there is a small, growing church plant among tribal people who have been displaced
because of the problems with the NPA (New People's Army), the communist group that is active here. We will be doing a pilot project of
presenting the Gospel using a presentation called God's Story. This is a "chronological storytelling of the Bible to reach oral
communicators." This method of presenting the Gospel is being used effectively around the world and is now available in the Cebuano
language. We will again be doing this presentation in September in Arakan Valley in North Cotabato. If this presentation seems to be effective,
then we will begin to train our tribal pastors in the use of the material to help accelerate the proclamation of the Gospel here in Mindanao.
The use of God's Story has great potential here. Please pray that the Lord will prepare hearts and there will be a great harvest.
Pray for Timothy as he continues his role in mentoring pastors. He will begin mentoring two local pastors to help them in the process of
preparing for ordination. He will also be working on an ordination track for our tribal pastors.
Continue to pray for our health and safety.
Above all, pray that the Lord will be greatly glorified in all that we do. It's all about Him!
