SOUTHEAST SECTION REPORT
Spring 2008

Greetings from the Southeast Section. I pray all is well in the ARMS family of believers!

The Southeast Section is planning our annual get-together for North Carolina later this year, but plans are incomplete at this time. If you are interested in joining us, please e-mail me at a later date and I will keep you informed of our plans.

Dave Gillespie, WA4LLR, is in Guatemala on a missions trip as I write this report and I hope to have a full report in the Fall issue. Dave pastors a church in Western North Carolina but is very missions-minded and takes 2-3 missions trips a year.

Ed Lewis, K4WOS, and his wife, Jean, have relocated to a retirement home. He is no longer on the air but we are trying to get him hooked up on Echolink. So, those of you who use Echolink, listen and watch for Ed.

Ed Bradley, W4VGI, is trying to get his local hospital hooked in on the emergency management network on HF bands. UHF and VHF are already up and running. Ed is volunteering for the WX4MRX National Weather Service Skywarn Network. Ed and Hugh, AC4HY, have updated the ham shack at the weather service to insure readiness for the event of severe weather. Ed has promised to be more faithful on the daily HF ARMS Net.

Dave Newell, WA4DUP, is going to send an update on the missionary reports about what is going on in his and Anna Gay's life at Neighborhood Gospel Missions.

Bobby, KC4DOG, is about to settle in on his new job as election supervisor the for the Board of Election and Registration for Morgan County in Georgia. Bobby is our net control on our Saturday Southeast Section Net at 9:00 a.m. Eastern on 3.899.5 MHz.

I pray conditions on HF will improve so I can take back my position as net control on Thursdays. I would like to take time to thank Don, KC7WV, for filling in for me as net control. That big gun signal he has on 20 meters is much appreciated on my end. My vertical does not cut the mustard to be able to run the net for the last couple of years.

That is it for the Southeast Section report. Keep your eye on the eastern sky for the Lord Jesus Christ is coming.

73 and 99,
Denis, WD4ACH
